Cubic was my first taste of specialty coffee in Australia after moving from Scotland a year ago.
I was absolutely blown away by their coffee, and I love their constantly rotating menu of local Australian roasteries.
From flat whites to pourovers, Cubic never misses.
The staff are always on top form, super friendly and helpful, and always make me feel super at home.
The food menu here is also fantastic, including the best banana bread I’ve ever eaten!
I love this place so much and always make sure to visit when I’m in Brisbane! It’s always my top recommendation for friends and family visiting, and they always come back having loved their experience!

Cubic is everything I like about cafes. Great coffee from baristas who know how to make a good cup, and who genuinely care about making good coffee. They offer a changing menu of coffees, including some incredible filtered variations that are served in a special decanter and cup that fits the Japanese fusion vibes of the cafe (have in only). Some even come with a coffee card that highlights the flavours and region the coffee corks from. If asked, the staff are not afraid of giving their honest recommendations, or matching a coffee to the customer’s palette. They even give a little piece of brownie with every coffee. Who doesn’t like free snacks?!!
The cafe has a loyal crowd which the owner and baristas usually know by name and/or order. On Wednesday's they put out a tiny bottle on the counter where customers can guess the scent inside. There’s a free coffee for those who do.
Along with the outdoor seating, there’s a quiet loft up top with its wood and stone motif that is hidden with just enough hanging plants that it feels intimate, separating it from the hustle and bustle below and on the busy Brisbane street.
I keep meaning to try other cafes in the area, but it’s that good.
With its assortment of pastry’s, baked goods, sandwiches and snacks there’s usually something for everyone.
